Ideation Process with LEGO Serious Play
Step 1: Initial Model Building
Each team member built a LEGO model to represent a specific need of Fatima Ibrahim. We presented our models to each other within the group, each taking 10-20 seconds to explain the need represented. We then chose 1 to 3 words to describe each need and wrote them on sticky notes.
Step 2: Addressing Additional Needs
In the second round, we each built a LEGO model to cover any needs not previously addressed. We repeated the process of presenting our models and describing the needs with sticky notes.
Reflection and Consolidation
Together, we reviewed all the models, identified overlapping needs, and grouped similar ones. This ensured that we had a comprehensive set of LEGO models representing all the crucial needs of Fatima Ibrahim.
Features and Functions Representation
Step 3: Feature/Function Model Building
Next, we each built a LEGO model representing one required feature or function of the app. We presented these models to each other, describing each feature with 1 to 3 words on sticky notes.
Step 4: Ensuring Comprehensive Coverage
Reflection and Finalization
We reviewed all the models, identified any overlapping features, and grouped or discarded redundant ones. This final reflection led to a complete set of LEGO models representing all essential features and functions of the app.
Strengthening Connections We identified any features/functions that felt less connected to user needs and discussed potential improvements. We rebuilt certain LEGO models to better align features/functions with the needs, ensuring a robust and coherent design.
